Half Hoods are our prospective members who have expressed interest in joining the warband and trialling how they fit into the group.
Half Hooding consists of 4 Friday nights of you running as a Half Hood, and a social event outside of a Friday night, e.g crafting night.
It provides the opportunity for you to get to know the members of Scourge a little better, get the feel of the warband, ask lots of questions, come along to crafting events, be invited to day games, meet as many members as possible and see whether it is something you are interested in.
At the end of the 4 Friday nights and 1 social event, the Scourge will let you know whether they intend to extend an invitation, and you let us know whether you accept or decline the invitation if it is offered.
We do have a limit of how many people can be a Half Hood at any given time, so you may not be able to start your Half-Hooding straight away if there is a queue.
Make sure to read over the following information to ensure you have an understanding of the expectations Scourge of Mousillon has on it's members before starting their Half Hood journey.
We ask that people tour with at least two other warbands and to Yellow Hood with us at least three time in recent history to get a feel for the warband.
Being a Black hood/ member does include a $20 monthly membership payment into a warband account that gets used for warband expenses, e.g Quests, warband events, communal gear etc, so have a think about whether that is something you are prepared to commit to.
We have a Code of Conduct, an underage camping and events policy (mainly because the themes and RP of the WB can be dark and intense), and a drug policy that is followed and accepted by each and every member of the warband.
If you've run with us a couple of times, it's not news to you that the city of Mousillon isn't a place of peace and harmony.
A little excerpt about Mousillon from our Codex: "Mousillon being the not so savoury place it is you can assure yourself we are the same. We are not the good guys and often do questionable things as a whole, keep in mind we are not murder hobos so think more covert evil, lawful evil/neutral evil".

The Barony of the Damned Sourcebook
Regarding Scourge's visual style, it is best described as Bretonnian with a twist. 14th century France is our most realistic "real world" comparison, but with a little extra weathering, burns marks, bones and corruption.
When representing the Scourge, our high kit standards and our warband colours are very important identifiers and as such we have a soft kit and armour guide to help members understand the style and themes of Scourge and to encourage a cohesive and common style.
All members have the responsibility to uphold our kit standards and help other members improve their skills and knowledge.
After you've done your 4 Friday nights and the social event, the warband leader/s will reach out to you over the weekend and ask you a couple of questions. Before the upcoming Friday you should hear from the warband leader/s again about whether Scourge intends on extending an invitation to you or not.
There is of course a chance that there is a delay, but it will be communicated to you.
Take this time to reflect over your time Half-Hooding with Scourge, re-reading over the documents and information that has been discussed, ask any questions you still may have and think about whether you're interested in joining the Scourge.
If Scourge extends an invitation and if you also decide to join, let us know when you are attending a Friday next and we will organise your in character initiation. You won't need to worry about making a black hood as one gets made and given to new members during the initiation.
